Group structure

The operating subsidiaries of Barilla Holding manufacture and sell pasta, sauces, and bakery products in Italy and  worldwide.
The current Group structure is divided into two operating sub-holdings: Barilla G. e R. Fratelli SpA and Lieken AG, together with their subsidiaries.

The company organisational chart above is a simplified version: the group comprises over 40 companies all involved in the manufacture, sale and distribution of food products in Italy and abroad.

The Group operates directly in 20 countries, exports its products to more than 100 countries and owns 43 production facilities across 9 countries.
The number of employees at 31 December 2010 was 14,043, of which 4,655 are employed in Italy and 9,378 overseas.
 

Transactions involving investments

In the course of 2009, the Group’s scope of consolidation was reduced after the disposal of the entire shareholding in La Bella Easo, part of the Bakery Business Unit.

Barilla Holding Società per Azioni presents a corporate structure in the 2009 financial statements in which investments in the Group’s operating companies are held through the sub-holding Barilla Iniziative S.r.l., which is 85% owned by Barilla Holding Società per Azioni.
